Pudlat, Pudlo (Canadian, 1916-1992). FISH LINE. Stonecut in colors, 1965. Edition of 50. Titled, signed, dated, numbered 37/50, and inscribed "Dorset," and "Stonecut," all in pencil, in the margin. With the artist's chop and the red igloo chop of Kinngait Studios at the upper left, and the Blindstamp of the Eskimo Arts Council, lower right. 16 x 24 inches (sheet). Pudlo Pudlat was one of the first generation of Inuit artists who worked at Cape Dorset. Of his work, he said, "At times when I draw, I am happy, but sometimes it is very hard. I have been drawing a long time now. I only draw what I think, but sometimes I think the pencil has a brain too." In very good condition.
