Second State, with the pupil added to the left eye, The published state, titled "Miss Agnga Enters," and signed and dated 1926 in the plate, titled "Enters 1927," inscribed "100 proofs" and signed in pencil. Only 60 were printed, of which 40 were printed by Sloan for use as his and Dolly's New Year's card for 1927, and 20 were printed for him by Ernest Roth at a later date. As Sloan's Holiday cards usually bear a handwritten greeting message, this is likely one of the Roth prints. 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches, 81 x 82 mm. In excellent condition. A larger and more elaborately rendered version of this subject was also done at the same time (Morse 228). This print is the second of three etchings Sloan made of Angna Enters in performance which he used as New Year's cards in the years 1926, 1927, and 1928. Additionally, between 1926 and 1930, he made five other prints using her as the subject: Rendezvous (Large), M.228, Odalisque, M.232, Antique A La Francaise, M.239, Pavanna, M.244, and The Green Hour, M.245.
