Sloan, John. FIFTH AVENUE CRITICS (CONNOISSEURS OF VIRTUE). Morse 128. Etching, 1905. This appears to be the Ninth State, before the burnishing of the coachman's face. According to Morse, the edition of 110 was made of the Tenth State. Printed on Arches paper. 5 x 7 inches, 127 x 177 mm. (plate), 10 x 12 7/8 inches (sheet). It is unclear whether this is a proof before the edition, or if some early proofs of the edition were made in this state. A small loss at the upper left corner and two very small breaks at the left sheet edge, else in excelent condition.
