Ruth Leaf, American, was born in New York in 1923, She studied at the Art Student's League, and at Atelier 17 with Hayter.She is the author of "Etching, Engraving and Other Intaglio Printmaking Techniques, and has had her work exhibited in numerous shows throughout the United States as well as in Mexico, France, and Japan. Her work can be found in both college and metropolitan museums. Although she is best known for her etchings, her work also includes woodcuts, solar prints, monoprints, and mixed media (information from Butler Institute of Art).
