Parrish, Maxfield. AIR CASTLES. Vintage print, circa 1903, after the original painting done for the cover of the Ladies Home Journal. 16 x 12 inches, in the original period mat and frame. In very good condition, with the colors strong and bright. Along with "Dinky Bird" this was Parrish's most popular print. It was very widely distributed and hung in many homes from the early to the mid-20th century. Since the revival of interest in his work in the 1960s, Parrish has achieved the stature of an important American artist. Though created through a photographic process, these early prints are superior to the glut of modern reproductions.
