David Itchkawitch was born in Rhode Island in 1937. He graduated from RISD and also studied in Italy as part of RISD's Honors Program. He has produced a large body of etchings of which he says, "My work represents invented situations which look believable at first glance. I feel it is almost a test to see whether I can create a believable, interesting situation with a good composition." He currently lives and works in Maine.
