Inscribed in pancil "Merry Xmas" and "To Peg with love," and signed Dot Varian, Further inscribed, in pencil, verso, "Peggy Bacon From Dorothy Varian." 5 x 4 inches (plate), plus margins. In excellent condition.Varian was born in New York City. She studied at Cooper Union and at the Art Student's League. She lived and worked in Woodstock, NY and was a pert of the community of artists associated with Woodstock.
