Tall 8vo., Stamped buckram, 437pp. Vans claimed, and the heirs denied, that he was owed money by Codman. This publication is a response to Van's various lawsuits and petitions to the legislature. The Codman family is still prominent in Boston. A very nice copy with light wear at head of spine and corners, and light browning and/or foxing affecting the endpapers and a few pages at the beginning and end.
