Presentation inscription by Kent, on the half-title, to Maine painter Stephen Etnier, dated 1929, the year Etnier apprenticed with Kent. Comstock, NY, 1914. 8vo., pictorial cloth, illustrated endpapers, color frontispiece, and a total of 54 illustrations by Kent. Fine, a superb copy, though without the dust jacket. Housed in Etnier's custom made chemise and slipcase. An infrequently seen title, the first book illustrated by Kent, made unique by the accompanying drawing. Stephen Etnier, 1903-1984, apprenticed with Kent at Au Sable Forks, New York during 1928 and 1929, before going on to become well known and highly regarded as a painter.
