A view from the front of the museum looking out with Congress Square Park, the "Heirs" Building, Paul's Market, etc opposite, and the Hay's Building at right. Robert Solotaire (1930-2008), painted views of the industrial and urban landscapes in plein air. He worked in various cities in the US, spending his later years in Portland painting both its iconic attractions, such as this view of Congress Square, as well as its lesser known byways. His work is in the collections of the Portland Museum of Art and the Farnsworth Museum.
