Large 4to., green cloth, 65pp. text and 56 plates lithographed by Julius Bien (known for his lithographs of Audubon's birds). Some foxing, mostly marginal, with only a few spots actually on images, some wear at corners; an old reback of the spine, with the original spine laid on, also shows light wear. This is, withal, a very nice copy of a book with extraordinary illustrations of anthropomophicized animals, somewhat reminiscent of the manner of Grandville.
