The Edition was 21, and, according to the Scottish Arts Council catalogue of its 1979 exhibition, there were 25 additional proofs, for a total edition of 46. Published by Gemini GEL in 1977, proofed by Serge Lozingot, and printed by Mark Stock in Los Angeles. Done with crayon on an aluminum plate, and printed on Barker Handmade paper. 24 1/4 x 18 inches, 620 x 460 mm. (sheet), with deckle on all four sides. With the label of the Joy Emery Gallery, Grosse Pointe, MI. In excellent condition. Henry Geldzahler, American, 1935-1994, was a curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art serving as Curator of American Art and later as Curator of 20th Century Art. He left the Museum in 1978 to become the New York City Commissioner of Cultural Affairs in the Koch Administration. Subsequently he worked with PS 1 and the Dia Foundation. He was a close of friend of David Hockney, and sat as a subject for paintings, drawings, and prints by Hockney.
