Sibisi was born at Rorke's Drift, a small town in Natal, South Africa, known as the site of a battle in the 1870s was betweenthe Zulus and the British. After leaving school he worked on farms in the Dundee area. In 1970-71 he attended the ELC Centre where he trained in the Ceramic Workshop. He favoured the cylinder, mostly monochromatic in colour, with figurative decoration. Animated figures of men, animals and mythical creatures leap off the surface of his pots. He exhibited at the Durban Art Gallery (DAG) on the 1970 exhibition entitled ELC Art and Craft Centre, Rorke's Drift.(Bio from South African History Online).
