Liu, Beining (Chinese, born 1993). UNITILED Platinum 2019. 10 x 10 1/2 inches, framed to 16 x 15 1/2 inches. In excellent condition.Born in China in 1991, Beining received his B.A. in oil painting from the China Academy of Arts, and recently completed his M.F.A. at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. His work has been exhibited at prestigious art shows in China, at the Florence Biennial of 2015, and he was given an expansive thesis exhibition in 2016 at the DeKalb Gallery at Pratt. Using paper, ink, clay and metal, he makes paintings, drawings, photography and installations of natural environments such as water, rock, vegetation. Through his art he attempts to convey in material form the subtle beauty of the "description gap" and the "observation gap" between verbal and visual languages, and between one verbal language and another.
