SIX HANDPAINTED CERAMIC FIGURES ("SIX ROBBERS" or "SEST ZBOJNIKOV")

Bizmayer, Ignac (Czech, 1922-2019). SIX HANDPAINTED CERAMIC FIGURES ("SIX ROBBERS" or "SEST ZBOJNIKOV"). Circa 1970s. Each with Bizmayer's "IB" initials on the base. These were created by Bizamyer in a variety od designs always of men with small cups for hats, desinged to be used as shot glasses. They were made from faience or majolica, mold cast and painted by hand in Bizameyer's ceramic workshop in Modra a town in the Czech Republic. Each about 4 1/8 inches tall. All in excellent condition. Each cup in this set is marked with the initials "F.G.," possibly designating the person for whom they were made.Bizamyer was a major figure in Czech ceramic art from the mid-20th century, known for his sculptural works, and for these small drinking cups.
