Buhot, Felix. L'HIVER A PARIS. B/G 128. Etching, aquatint and drypoint, 1879. 3rd state of 9, as described by Goodfriend in the Supplement: with retouching to the dogs, with the "a la Place Breda/9 Decembre" in the lower portion of the principal subject, but before the "L'hiver de 1879 a Paris" or "L'Art" inscriptions. On thin, laid Japan paper. 9 1/2 x 13 3/4 inches; 241 x 349 mm. (sheet 10 1/2 x 15 in.; 267 x 381 mm.). Goodfriend, in an entry in his 1986 Catalogue Number 4, describes proofs in this state as "quite uncommon," and speculates that they may have been used for the deluxe edition of L'Art in which the published state of the print appeared. A fine impression in excellent condition.
