Program, elegantly designed in typographic text mimeographed onto a single folded sheet of heavy gray paper. The outer front half-sheet has the title as above and the location and time of the performance; the inner full-sheet lists the program, the performers, the other participants, and the sponsors. Notations in pencil on on rear blank sheet appear to be an address and phone number with a illegible name. 6 x 9 inches folded. a 1x 1/2 inch loss at the top right corner, and a soft vertical crease from folding, else very well preserved. Cage and Cunningham's first concert together was in 1944. The two were major forces, separately and together in American music and dance throughout the second half of the 20th Century and into the 21st, so that this 1949 concert is very early in both careers, preceding their Black Mountain College days and the formation of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company.
