Cloisonne. PAIR OF SMALL VASES WITH FLORAL DESIGNS IN MIRROR IMAGES. Japan, Meiji, Circa 1860-1920. Each 6 inches tall, about 2 1/2 inches wide, with four sided body tapering up to a narrow rounded neck, and down to a rounded base. Each of the four panels depicts a different flowering tree, each tree is shown in mirror image to the same tree on the other vase, though the mirroring is not exact. Each signed with Japanese characters on the base. The work is very intricate, small, delicate and fine throughout. Both in exceptionally fine condition, with no flaws.
