The print is one of the works illustrated in the book, which is a study of Shahn's mural on the Sacco and Vanzetti case at Syracuse, as well as of his long standing interest in the case, his earlier works on the subject, and his works on similar themes of social justice. The serigraph of 1958 marked a return to this theme. It is one of Shahn's most powerful combinations of pictorial imagery and calligraphy. In excellent condition and now rarely available. $7500.00[a]
