Monogramed "CHS" in the stone; unsigned, as issued, and with the embossed seal of the publsher, lower right corner. 8 1/2 x 10 inches on a larger sheet. Framed to 20 x 21 inches. In excellent condition. Shannon is best known as a portrait painter. He and his partner, the artist Charles Ricketts met while still in their teens and were together until Ricketts died in 1931. In 1928 Shannon was injured in a fall while hanging a picture; the injuryresulted in amnesia, and ended his career.
