Marsh, Reginald TWO STUDIES FOR THE ETCHING "GIRL WITH FRILLED-OUT SKIRT" READING NEWSPAPER. Side-by-side pencil drawings on the same sheet of paper, 1938 or earlier. Each 4 3/4 x 4 inches, plus pencilled border, and margin, with about 1/2 inch space between them, thus c. 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches (image). Framed to 12 x 15 inches. In excellent condition. The etching is Sasowsky 174, of which there are 13 impressions known. One drawing shows the figure from behind, looking over her shoulder, and holding the newspaper. The other drawing, more "finished," closely resembles the etching.
