Vol. 3 No. 2 of the Guild's pamphlet "Wings", with articles about the book by Carl Van Doren and JohnFarrar, and an In Memoriam for Elinor Wylie is laid in. The book and the pamphlet Very Good (a few spots to the cloth); the Dust Jacket, designed by McKnight Kauffer, Very Good, with some fading, a small stain, top, and some nicks at the edges, top and bottom. A novel about Black and White Families in Charleston, exploring racial tensions and shared cultures; not a sequel, but set in the same city and era as Porgy. Ethel Waters starred in the play Heyward adapted from the book. The book was originally published by the University of South Carolina Press, and was the Literary Guild's selection for February, 1929.
