POEM ABOUT ALEX

Bacon, Peggy. POEM ABOUT ALEX. Ink on paper 11 x 8 1/2 inches. Undated and Unsigned, but clearly in Peggy Bacon's hand. Folds and some edge losses. The poem reads as follows:
Dear Alex Journeys to the town
New Pleasures for to find
Selects a tie of pink or brown
And leaves his wife behind.
A lovely wife is Peggy who
Should be his only joy
He beats her till she's black and blue
He is a snappy boy.
O Alex has a fetching smile
He wears a hat of tweed
He twirls his cane in English style
A snappy boy indeed
