Expertly restored, with most parts original and in working order; a few parts replaced with laser printed color facsimiles, a few parts present but not operating. Overall, a Very Good copy of a rare book. The restorer has provided the following comments as to the work done on the book: 1.Rebacked with new inner black hinge; japanese tissue repairs to spine folds as needed, textblock reattached to original case with original staples. 2.Daumenlang - reattached boys head using facsimile; reattached page at lower right. 3.Tiger - extend tab; reattach pole. 4.Umbrella - tab repaired; edges reglued (this does not work with ease). 5.Eagle - replaced umbrella in boy's hand; tears repaired; mechanism repaired. (Boy doesn't move because he was glued down in a previous repair. This cannot be undone.) 6.Alligator - arm and palette reinforced and reattached; mechanism repaired with new pieces added; tab replaced. 7.Snake - Arm reattached; pole reattached; mechanism repaired; tab repaired. 8.Boat - arm reattached; pole reattached; mechanism repaired; tab repaired.
