ROBERT PEARY, THE LORD MAYOR OF MANCHESTER, ENGLAND AND OTHERS

Unknown Photographer. ROBERT PEARY, THE LORD MAYOR OF MANCHESTER, ENGLAND AND OTHERS. Gelatin silver print, 1910. The image shows Commander Peary with Charles Behrens, the Lord Mayor of London, with the Lady Mayoress, Major Church Howe, the U.S. Consul, Canon Wainright, and the Mayor's daughters in a group portrait. The names of the people in the photo are inscribed in ink near the bottom edge; on the verso of the mount is written in black ink "England 1910" and, in pencil, "Manchester Guardian Photo, 1910." A 1 1/2 x 1 3/4 inch triangular loss to the lower right corner of the image; else in very good condition.
