One of eight color vairiants,each hand-painted by the artist, each printed in an edition of 6, plus one artist's proof by Catherine Mouseley. This is the proof of the Blue variant. Signed in pencil, and inscribed "Proof," lower right, and with the blindstamp of Robert Motherwell Editions, and released through Beggruen Gallery, San Francisco. The color variants are crimson, red, orange, olive, green, blue, brown and ochre. 8 1/;2 x 12 7/8 inches (plate), 24 3/4 x 21 inches (sheet). Framed to 27 x 23 1/2 inches. In excellent condition.
