Anonymous. SEATED MALE NUDE. Drawing in red chalk, French, 18th Century. 21 x 16 3/4 inches; 534 x 425 mm. The signature has been partly effaced, and is not readily legible. Annotated, including the date 1785, on verso. An academic figure study of a nude male, seated, with his right arm raised in front of his eyes. In good condition, but with a 1 x 2 inch paper loss in the left margin, top, distant from the image. This drawing, purchased at auction, was the property of Agnes Mongan, curator of Prints and Drawings at the Fogg Museum of Harvard University.
