Tramp Art. TRAMP ART BOX. Early 20th Century. A handsome box with a hinged lid. The box rests between thirty layers of thin, uncarved wood. At the bottom is a pedestal consisting of flat, layers, the first eight tapering from large to smaller, the second ten tapering from small to larger; the lid has twelve layers, tapering from large to small. The layers are not chip carved or otherwise ornamented, giving the box a reserved, planar, architectural quality of considerable elegance. Good patina and in excellent condition except lacking one of the two hinge latches.
