Bell, Cecil (American, 1906-1970). TWO DRAWINGS: MAN READING NEWSPAPER and FAMILY ON FERRY. Watercolor and pencil on paper, not dated, but mid-20th Century. With Bell's embossed blindstamp in the paper. 8 x 5 1/2 inches on sketchbook paper with perforated ring-binder holes at left. Framed together in fine wooden frames with deeply beveled mats. In excellent condition.
Cecil Bell studied at the Art Students League in NYC with Sloan, Locke, Barnet and Wickey. He also worked as a commerical artist for Fox Films and others. His paintings, drawings, and prints, focus, like these, on incidents of ordinary life in the City.
