Inscribed and signed on the backing on the frame "Painted by Delphia Dirks, wife of Agri counselor, US Embassy, Moscow, May, 1981 Delphia Dirks." The subject is and Orthodox Church. Matstain along the edges, a stain at the upper left of the image, else in very good condition. Delphia Dirks is a well-known painter of icons. Her husband was an official in the U.S. Embassy in Moscow and this painting was done by her while they were posted in the USSR.
