In excellent condition,Sheridan began his career in the theater as an actor and dancer. As a painter, he worked mostly in abstraction. In the early 1970s he taught Conceptual Art in Sydney, Australia. He was subsequently made Director of the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. A survey show of his work was held at the RHA Gallagher Gallery in 2001.
