Signed for the artist by his widow in pencil, and with her initials "RS", indicating that this was left unsigned in the artist's estate at the time of his of his death. 10 3/4 x 8 5/8 inches (plate), plus margins. Framed to 17 3/4 x 15 1/2 inches. In excellent condition.Sharp was born in Austria and emigrated to the U.S. in 1934. He worked as a courtoom artist and was also on the staff of Esquire magazine. He did illustrations for Life Magazine, Colliers, and The New York Times Magazine, and also illustrated a number of books. Though much of his work was commerical, he continued to produce fine art prints.
